CCI-TL Strengthens Regional Engagement at ASEAN-BAC, Joint Business Council and ASEAN Supply Chain Meetings

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste (CCI-TL) actively participated in the 104th ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Meeting and the 26th Joint Business Council Meeting, held from 21–24 September 2025 at the St. Regis Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 

 

CCI-TL was represented by its Vice President for ASEAN and WTO Affairs, Mr. Sidonio Trindade Da Costa Freitas who joined regional business leaders in addressing key priorities on trade facilitation, private sector competitiveness, investment, and inclusive growth. The agenda also included the 1st ASEAN Supply Chain Coordination Council Meeting and the ASEAN-BAC Interface with ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) on 23rd September 2025, providing a platform for direct dialogue between the private sector and regional policymakers.

 

 

Through this participation, CCI-TL shared Timor-Leste’s perspectives on private sector development, economic diversification, and regional integration, while also strengthening networks and exploring new opportunities for cooperation.

 

CCI-TL’s involvement reaffirms its role in representing the voice of Timor-Leste’s business community and supporting the country’s path toward full ASEAN membership.
